At Erickson Asphalt, we recently completed a full reconstruction project for Isanti Estates, a mobile home park that needed extensive improvements to its road and driveways. This project required close coordination with the park's management team, ensuring that we could minimize disruptions for the residents while efficiently moving through each phase of the work.
The first stage involved addressing the 44 driveways throughout the park. We carefully removed each existing driveway, prepping the base to ensure a stable, long-lasting foundation. A few areas required minor grading to improve drainage. Once the preparation was complete, we paved each driveway. The end result is a set of beautifully finished, smooth driveways that blend seamlessly with the new roadway.
On Saturday, we transitioned to the road itself, where we used our reclaimer unit. The reclaimer grinds up the existing asphalt and underlying base, mixing the materials together in a single process to create a new base layer. This approach allowed us to reuse materials on-site, saving our client both removal and hauling expenses, and eliminating the need for additional base materials. By recycling the asphalt in this way, we reduced costs and minimized waste—a win for the client and the environment.
Once the reclaimer work was complete, we graded the road, addressing some drainage concerns to ensure long-term durability. With the base set, we paved the road with a 3-inch lift of fresh asphalt, smooth surface that residents can enjoy for years to come.
During the project, management also requested an asphalt overlay for the community basketball court. We were happy to accommodate. This added value to the project and created a refreshed space for residents to enjoy.
Overall, we laid 1,600 tons of asphalt throughout Isanti Estates. The project ran smoothly, and we’re grateful to the residents for their patience and cooperation. Even with careful planning, a project of this scope can cause some inconvenience, so we appreciate the community's understanding. We're proud of the transformation and confident the new roadways and driveways will serve Isanti Estates well for years to come.
