Erickson Asphalt has been paving driveways and maintaining parking lots across Anoka for over 35 years. We know this city from the historic downtown along Main Street to the residential neighborhoods stretching toward Coon Rapids and Champlin.
Anoka is one of the oldest cities in the metro area, and that history shows in its properties. The established neighborhoods near downtown and along the Rum River have driveways that were paved decades ago. Newer areas toward the city edges have different needs. Commercial corridors along Main Street and Highway 10 require parking lot maintenance that holds up to constant traffic.
Whether you need a driveway replacement near the Rum River, sealcoating for a home off Ferry Street, or parking lot repairs for a business along Main Street, we handle it. And we put the Erickson name on every job.

What Our Customers Are Saying
Asphalt Services in Anoka
Driveway Paving
Anoka’s older neighborhoods have driveways that are well past their expected lifespan. When cracks spread and settling becomes visible, a new driveway installation is the right move. We handle complete tear-outs with proper grading, base preparation, and compaction. Every residential driveway comes with our industry-leading warranty.
Driveway Sealcoating
Sealcoating is the most cost-effective maintenance for asphalt. It blocks UV damage, prevents water infiltration, and resists oil stains. For Anoka driveways, we recommend sealing every two to three years to maximize pavement life.
Apron Repair
A sunken apron creates a gap where water collects and accelerates damage to your garage foundation. Our apron repair service addresses the underlying cause with a proper repair, not just a surface patch.
Commercial Paving
Anoka has commercial activity along Main Street and Highway 10 that serves the surrounding communities. We handle parking lot construction, overlays, and full reconstruction for retail centers, restaurants, and business properties. Our crews work around your operations to minimize disruption.
Commercial Sealcoating
For property managers and business owners, parking lot sealcoating extends pavement life and improves appearance at a fraction of replacement cost. We phase larger projects to maintain access and coordinate striping after the sealer cures.
Asphalt Repair
Potholes and alligator cracking get worse every freeze-thaw cycle. Our infrared patching creates seamless repairs by heating existing asphalt and blending in new material. For larger problem areas, we offer mill-and-patch and section replacement.

What You Should Know About Paving in Anoka
River Valley Soils
Anoka sits at the confluence of the Rum River and the Mississippi, with soil conditions that vary across the city. Properties near the rivers have sandier, alluvial soils with better drainage. Other areas have heavier glacial deposits with more clay content, which holds water and contributes to frost heave. We assess conditions on every project because they directly affect what your pavement needs to perform.
Permit Requirements
The City of Anoka requires driveway permits through the Planning and Zoning Division. Driveways must be paved with asphalt, concrete, brick, or similar hard surface. Driveway aprons must be concrete, at least six inches thick, installed over a Class V base. If your property connects to a county road, you will also need an access permit from Anoka County. Routine sealcoating does not require a permit. We determine what is needed upfront and handle the coordination.
Neighborhoods We Serve
We work throughout Anoka, including the historic downtown area near Main Street and the Rum River, residential neighborhoods along Ferry Street and 4th Avenue, properties near the Mississippi River, and commercial areas along Highway 10 and Main Street. From the oldest neighborhoods to newer developments, we have experience with the range of conditions across the city.
Our Recent Projects in Anoka
Benedictine Assisted Living
We completed an ADA correction project for Benedictine Assisted Living in Anoka, MN. The existing parking lot had a steep grade that didn’t meet ADA slope requirements. The scope included 195 tons of recycled aggregate base, 170 linear feet of new curb and gutter, 600 sq ft of sidewalk, and 3,900 sq ft of fresh asphalt.
The site’s natural slope made this one a precision job. We rebuilt the entryway landing to under 2% grade in every direction and maintained that through the accessible parking area. The finished lot is fully ADA-compliant with proper slopes, clear striping, and a safer experience for residents and visitors.
