Permit Requirements

North Branch requires permits for new driveways, driveway expansions, and curb cuts within the public right-of-way, handled through the City of North Branch Building Department. Adding a secondary driveway comes with setback and spacing requirements in the city code, while a standard replacement on the existing footprint is usually less involved. If your driveway connects to a county road, Chisago County may require an access permit, and connections to Highway 95 or the I-35 frontage involve MnDOT. We determine what’s needed upfront and handle the coordination.
