At Erickson Asphalt, we recently tackled a challenging project for Miller Auto Plaza, a reputable family-owned car dealership in St. Cloud, MN. With over 30 years of experience in the paving industry, we brought our expertise to address the dealership's drive lane issues, which suffered from multiple potholes due to improper drainage and inadequate asphalt thickness.
Our team undertook a comprehensive approach to rectify these problems. We started by removing the existing asphalt and base material entirely, a necessary step to ensure a long-lasting solution. We regraded the drive lane, an essential phase to prevent future water damage and potholes. We then laid down a 6-inch base material, creating a solid foundation for the new asphalt. This groundwork allowed us to pave the area with a new layer of asphalt, achieving a final compaction thickness of 3 inches, tailor-made for the high-traffic demands of a commercial setting.
In addition to addressing the asphalt issues, we also repaired the concrete in the catch basin structure, ensuring a comprehensive fix to the drainage problems plaguing the area.
Understanding the importance of minimizing disruption to Miller Auto Plaza's operations, we strategically scheduled the bulk of our work on Sunday, a day when the dealership was closed. We wrapped up the project early Monday afternoon, ensuring the dealership could resume its business with minimal impact.
